1/72 Macedonian Phalangites #2

The second half now done.

Strategos:
The whole lot:

Not so much a phalanx as a Taxis or so I'm told, as six companies (lochoi?) made a taxis and six taxis(?) made a phalanx.

What will happen now of course is that I'll be forced to upgrade the rest of the army proportionally. Can't forget the Persians.

  2. Impressive Phalanx! The metal and plastics mix very well. Looking forward to the next upgrade!

    1. Cheers. Despite them being 20mm rather than 1/72 the Newline figures fit well and are well detailed. Next upgrade? it's on th elist

  3. Beautifully done George. The mix of poses is perfectly balanced. Great choice of material for the pikes for the Hat figures too. What did you use?

    1. Kind of you to say so James. The pikes are from two different sources; the original figures use brass rod (no spear point) and the newer ones (e.g. front rank lowered pikes) from plastic rod. The brass is easier to get to stick on using superglue, the plastic using polystyrene cement but you have to give it time to soften the plastic so the pike 'welds' on then seal the joint with PVA. All pikes are 60mm long.
