The Dwarfs win the roll and get to attack, they would appear to more suited as a defensive force. While the Undead are much more mobile and would perhaps be better suited in attack.
Set up. 3’ x 4’ table, dice roll dictated playing along rather than across.
Undead deployment, their overall strategy will be defence through attack. Watch for an opportunity to get the Sneaker to the enemy General.Dwarf deployment, aim to get the artillery forward in a position to command the centre, and to clear away defenders from behind the bad going. Hope for an early six and get the dragon forward to take care of Undead giant bats and skeleton cavalry.Turn 3: Bats go for an opportunistic attack on Dwarf General:
They get doubled, forced to flee and one flees straight off the table edge.Turn 4: The Dwarfs approaching their deployment zone.Turn 6: Dwarf dragon gets its 6.
Turns 7 to 10, Undead losing steadily so decide to force the pace.Doesn’t help.
Turn 13, Dragon nails Undead General with more than half AP already gone.
Final positions:Undead casualtiesDwarf casualties:
So what happened?
- Dwarfs tougher than I imagined.
- No effective opposition to the dragon.
- Undead frontal cavalry charges ultimately proved fatal.
